The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama Junior Board’s mission is to recruit elite young professionals in the Birmingham area to raise money and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House and its mission. The board offers young professionals a chance to build leadership skills, establish relationships with other young professionals and the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer and fundraising opportunities.
The Junior Board consists of members ranging in age from 22-39. The board plans and implements quarterly fundraising events that encourage Birmingham’s young professional community to give back to the Ronald McDonald House. The board also regularly cleans, prepares meals and interacts with families staying at the House.
Members serve two-year terms and dues are $100 per year. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every other month at 6 p.m. The meeting format alternates between a formal meeting at the Ronald McDonald House and a social meeting held at a local hot spot. Interested professionals will be added to the Members in Waiting list. Members in Waiting have priority to membership when a current member steps down or becomes inactive.
