The House That Love Built®

Our volunteers are the Heart of our House.  Each day you will find volunteers who are helping out around our house whether it’s supporting guest services,  preparing a meal, or organizing the pantry. Our hope is that you will find an area that fits you. We can’t wait to have you a part of the Volunteer Family!

Individual Volunteers

Individual volunteers are the heartbeat of our House. Volunteering at the House gives individuals the opportunity to see the mission in action. With a variety of concentration areas, there is a place for everyone to make a difference in the lives of the families we serve.

Happy Wheels Cart Volunteers

The Happy Wheels Cart is a program that takes place at Children’s of Alabama. Volunteers will pass out drinks, snacks, and other items to the children and families waiting in clinics 14 and 15. Happy Wheels Cart Volunteers will go through Children’s of Alabama and RMHCA’s volunteer process.

Meal Program Volunteers

The Meal Program is a pivotal part of the House. Volunteers cook and serve hot, delicious meals to our families in our Volunteer Kitchen. This program allows groups, families, or organizations to enjoy time together while making a difference. Whether you have a favorite recipe, a passionate group, or no cooking experience at all, this program is fun for everyone!

Family Program & Activity Volunteers

Family Program & Activity Volunteers create a fun atmosphere for our guest families through craft nights, Bingo, puzzles, games and more! Bring your group and enjoy an evening of activities of your choice with our families.

Event Volunteers

Event Volunteers assist with our 3 signature events including: Red Shoe Run, Ronald McDonald House Classic Golf Tournament, and the Heart of the House Gala! These events allow groups and communities to come together in celebration to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House. Use your talents and volunteer to make these events a huge success!
