The House That Love Built

Our volunteers are the Heart of our House.  Each day you will find volunteers who are helping out around our house whether it’s supporting our guest services,  preparing a meal,  or organizing our pantry.  Who better to tell you about volunteering at our house than our volunteers who make it a home away from home.

Individual Volunteer

“I like to volunteer because I like to inspire other people.” — Misty Busic, RMHCA Volunteer of the Year 2014 and former Student Leadership Council advisor.

Happy Wheels Cart Volunteers

The Happy Wheels Cart is a new program taking place at Children’s of Alabama. The volunteers will pass out drinks and snacks to the children and families who are waiting to see the doctors.

Meal Volunteers

“Several years ago, a group of great friends made the commitment to find a place to serve in our community.  We chose the Ronald McDonald House, thinking we could bless the families there with a home-cooked meal and perhaps lighten their burden in some small way.

We were unprepared to experience the blessings we’ve experiences each month as we’ve laughed, cried, and played with some of those families and their precious children. The ladies of Girls Night Out love it when we GET to serve at Ronald McDonald House.” — One member of Girls Night Out

Family Program & Activity Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in hosting a Family Program/Activity Night at the Ronald McDonald House. We want to provide you with basic information about our activity nights as well as House guidelines that will make your night a success for your group and our families.

Event Volunteers

“As an Alpha Delta Pi chapter, we love having a Ronald McDonald House in our city! Service is a big part of our organization, and we have been blessed to be able to volunteer at special events for RMHCA, like the Color Me Rad 5K in the Spring of 2014. At the 5k, our group was responsible for throwing color powder on participants as they ran the race! These events give us an opportunity to have fun as an ADPi chapter and offer our help wherever we are needed.” ––  Courtney Ingram, Former Philanthropy Chair for ADPi Samford

RMHCA has events throughout the year that offer volunteer opportunities like our Red Shoe Run, Golf Tournament and Heart of the House Gala.    If you are interested in helping out at any of our events, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

If you would like to tell us your story about your connection with RMHCA, we would love to hear it. Simply fill out the form and someone will get in touch with you!
