The Heartbeat of our House!
Updated February 7, 2023: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) continues to monitor the public health situation surrounding COVID-19 and, of course, flu season.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama is more than a House because of the hundreds of individuals and groups who give their time to serve our families. The health and well-being of our guest families, volunteers and team guide everything we do at the Ronald McDonald House and in our programs.
We are slowly re-introducing service opportunities for in-House volunteers, meal service and activities. As we continue to serve guest families we will have additional precautionary measures to reduce the risk of coronavirus exposure at our House.
- Volunteer groups will be 8 or less individuals
- All volunteers serving in the House are required to wear a mask at all times for the protection of the immune compromised families we serve
- Volunteers who serve inside the House must also provide proof of COVID vaccination
There are many ways to share your time and talents with the 73 families staying under our roof. After a long, stressful day away families come home to volunteers cleaning our common areas, organizing donation items, preparing a home-cooked meal and hosting a fun, family activity. These are just a few of the many opportunities our volunteers engage in. With individual, group, off-site and one-time opportunities, there is something for everyone. We are thrilled to welcome you to the family! We hope you’ll stay awhile.
