Visiting the House 20 Years Later
Twenty years after calling Ronald McDonald House Charities Twin Cities-Midwest home, Travis and his family went back for a visit. While there, Travis talked to kids currently undergoing cancer treatment and used his personal experience as a child to help those he met today.
It was an emotional journey for the entire family and a trip they will never forget. Travis was able to meet with some of the doctors and nurses who saved his life. Abby, Travis’ sister was able to visit the place she recalls during one of the hardest times in her life.
You might have missed the initial story about this family, but you can still read it on our blog — “Importance of What We Do.” This is the story of Kathy’s family. We are lucky to have Kathy on our team, as our Director of Development, she truly understands the hardships the families staying at RMHCA face. There are not many who can say that.
Travis, Abby, and Kathy are vital resources to the House. While each story is unique, the families are usually confronted with similar trails that must be overcome. We are lucky to have Kathy and her family, who have gone through their own difficult times, help others find their way forward.
