Thompson Foundation Helps Improve Core Program

Ronald McDonald House Charities is known worldwide for one of our core programs, the House. While we do provide other very important services and programs, the organization began because of the need for families have for a safe, affordable place to sleep while their children receive medical attention. This is still at the core of our mission. In order to continue to serve families through this important program, we must keep our rooms at the highest standards. Our Adopt-a-Room Program allows us to do just that.

Thanks to the Thompson Foundation and other organizations, we have completed the renovations on each one of our 41 private bedrooms. This core program allows families to have a place to sleep without worrying about expensive hotel bills, the travel time to the hospital and so much more. The ability to sleep somewhere within walking distance of a sick or injured child is something that changes the entire families outlook on the situation. Having Tempur-Pedic beds, a “home” feel and other accommodations is just a bonus. This core program is at the center of everything we provide at RMHCA and we are thankful for each donor who makes this a reality.

Representing the Thompson Foundation at the presentation to “cut the ribbon” for the room their donation helped renovate included Executive Director, Annie Thompson, as well as, Jacque Meyer, Mrs. Genie Thompson, Lucy Thompson Marsh, and her daughter, Hallsey.
