Thanks Daniel Foundation

002RMHC_RedNoseOur Adopt-a-Room Program is very important to the core services we provide at the Ronald McDonald House. Although we do so much more than provide a room, that is still at the center of what we do. The rooms at RMHCA allow families going through a medical crisis to get a good night’s rest and gives them a chance to relax without constant interruptions from medical staff.

Over the past two years, we have been renovating each of our 41 rooms and this Spring we completed the final 13 room renovations. The Daniel Foundation funded the updates for three rooms in our Adopt-a-Room Program. The Daniel Foundation of Alabama’s mission is to strengthen communities within Alabama and improve the quality of life for citizens from all regions of Alabama.

We are so thankful for their continued support of our charity to ensure our House has all of the amenities and updates it needs. Not only was the paint redone in each room, carpet changed to laminate flooring and bathroom vanities updated, but thanks to our donors we also included small touches like the addition of lamps on the bedside tables. We took the feedback provided by our families to make our rooms as “home-like” as possible.

During our ribbon cutting celebration in May, Bill Daniel, Jim Hughey, Maria Kennedy and Jennifer Gray were able to see the rooms the Daniel Foundation’s donation renovated and they were able to get a sense of the impact their funds made on RMHCA families.

This much-needed revitalization provided by Daniel Foundation and our other Adopt-a-Room donors helps the families get the rest they need after a long, hard day of stress and worry at the hospital.
