How does the Pop Tab Pandemonium School Contest work?

The Pop Tab Program raises valuable funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama. Money is raised through recycling the tabs and goes towards helping pay for families and children to stay at the House while their child is receiving medical treatment at the hospital. Your support helps ensure that these families will continue to have a place to rest, relax, and recover together.

The 2016-2017 Pop Tab Pandemonium contest has closed! Thank you to all who participated. You will find the dates for the 2017-2018 contest below but please check back later for the updated school materials.
  1. Register

In order to participate in the contest you must submit the Registration Form once the contest opens on September 1st. Forms should be submitted online no later than March 30, 2018.

  2. Get your school involved:

You can determine the best way to spread the word and get your students collecting tabs. We suggest holding a contest within the school for prizes such as extra recess, PTO sponsored pizza parties, etc. We have seen many past winners use this process, and it has proven to be very motivational! Once you register for the contest, you will be sent an electronic packet of documents to help get you started.

  3.  Save Pop Tabs

Have students, faculty and staff collect pop tabs throughout the school year. Pop tabs can be found on soda, soup, vegetable, tuna, and pet food cans.

  4.  Bring your pop tabs to RMHCA

During the school year, pop tabs can be brought to RMHCA to be weighed and processed. Please schedule drop off dates and times with the Pop Tab Coordinator (pop.tabs@rmhca.org or 205-638-7260).  You must bring your tabs in BAGS so they will be weighed properly. Please double bag the sacks in order to avoid rips and tears.  All pop tabs must be brought in by April 20, 2018 in order to be added to your school’s total.
*Out of town recycling centers TBD. Please check back for updated information on partnering recycling centers around the state.
