Alumni family raises $9,000 at the Team Roping event

Lacey and Matt Austin proudly share that their inaugural Team Roping event has raised $9,014 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama (RMHCA) mission!

The Austins stayed at RMHCA’s Ronald McDonald House when their daughter was born.

The couple was inspired to host an event that would raise funds to help other families like theirs.

RMHCA is grateful to the Austins for their hard work in hosting the Team Roping event and we also thank all of the riders who participated.

Prizes for the top ropers included several cash prizes, buckles and saddles branded with the RMHCA logo.

The Austins have also announced the dates for the 2nd Annual Team Roping for RMHCA! Get ready for more competition and fun May 4-5, 2024.

Team Roping, which includes riding horses in a ring to rope and tie a calf, is certainly a unique event!

However, you don’t have to be a cowboy to help the guest families served by RMHCA.

Anyone can host a community fundraising event for RMHCA that riffs on their passions. Sports fans can hold a tournament and donate a portion of the registration fees to our mission. Bakers or cooks can raffle off a special dessert or meal. Or, take inspiration from a local Girl Scout Troop who vacuumed car interiors for donations!
