Ronald McDonald Family Room at DCH Tuscaloosa

 

 

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama's latest addition, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, is now open!

Through this door, families will be able to find a place of healing and hope.  A place to gather strength and be comforted during life's most difficult times.

When their child is critically ill, parents are reluctant to leave the hospital.  With the opening of this Family Room, parents will be able to stay close to their sick child while getting a break from the ongoing stress of beeping monitors and busy intensive care units. 

 

Open from 8am to 9pm daily, the Family Room contains:

 

 

Also located within the Family Room is a children's Play Room for siblings of children currently admitted to the Pediatric Unit or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  Children will be able to play and have fun while their parents watch over them in the Family Room.

Families interested in using the Family Room should check in at the Pediatrics Unit Nurses Station on the 3rd Floor.  For more information regarding the use of the Family Room, eligibility, services available, volunteering, etc. please contact the Nurses Station for Pediatrics at 205-759-7237 or the NICU at 205-759-7690.
