In 2014, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama served over 1,140 families. Making sure they can stay together is important to us and we hope to be able to serve many more during 2015.
You've heard us say we are a home away from home for families (probably a lot) because we are, but we have help. :) Thanks to Ted's Restaurant our families get a good home style meal every single Friday -- which means they'll be getting it tonight to start off their Memorial Day weekend. http://tedsbirmingham.com/
THANK YOU to the great group from First Baptist Church Trussville who provided lunch for our families one day this week. They all enjoyed it and the ones that had it later wanted us to tell you all thank you as it was delicious!
There are so many bedtime stories read in our House each and every night of the year. With 41 rooms and a 97% occupancy rate we have a lot of families that have to create a new bed time routine here at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.
We can't help but wonder how many times #GoodnightMoon has been read under our roof - it is a favorite for sure. As Goodnight Moon turns 68 this year, we wanted to share these Fascinating Facts about the children's book from mental_floss. The real question is -- will you read your kids Goodnight Moon or its newer parody version, Goodnight iPad?
Our little play area by the kitchen and dining room includes two computers with several games. They were donated by IBM and are powered by Bright House Networks -- as you probably could guess they are one of the kids' favorite things to do.
