About the Program
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama started the Pop Tab Recycling Program in 2001 when we teamed up with Brother’s Recycling. A representative from Brother’s comes to the House to pick up the tabs to recycle them and Brother’s pays us the going rate per pound of aluminum. These funds are used to fund operations at the House, for things like utility bills and supplies for the House that the families need.
Meet RMHCA’s official Pop Tab partner – Jason Stein!
Collecting pop tabs is a great way to raise funds to help children and their families staying at RMHCA. Across Alabama, hundreds of individuals, schools, and companies collect pop tabs each year to benefit the families who call RMHCA home each year.
We currently raise an average of $15,000 a year from the recycling of pop tabs! Our goal is $20,000 a year and we hope with your participation we will once again meet our goal!
How do I get started?
Start collecting your pop tabs for RMHCA! Pop tabs can be found on soda, soup, vegetable, tuna, and pet food cans. Pop tabs can be brought to RMHCA at any time, an appointment is not necessary (to see other options on getting the tabs to us, check out our Pop Tab FAQ).
Download our flyer and distribute or display it at work, school, church, etc. to encourage your peers to collect their pop tabs for RMHCA, too!
All Alabama schools are encouraged to collect their pop tabs and participate in our annual Pop Tab Pandemonium contest. Learn more about it!
Check out our list of School Partners. Don’t see your schools name on the list? Get your school collecting pop tabs and donate them to RMHCA and you will see it next year.
